It is my advice to anyone with an xbox 360 console that you should be doing as much research as you can about the art of the xbox 360 softmod. Unlike a hardware modification, the softmod leaves your hardware completely untouched and therefore, you run no risk of killing your console. In the past console owners had no choice, there simply weren't any software modification kits or guides.

You would need to take your console to a computer market or specialised console repairer and pay a couple hundred dollars for this hardware modification to be done for you. The end result was a console who's warranty was now void, and with every hardware modification comes a risk of damaging your internal components. With these new softmod applications and guides, even a 10 year old could softmod their console. You even get step by step instructional videos for those of us that aren't technically minded.
