January was GO (Get Organized) Month. On 1/20/12, the Chicago chapter of The National Association of Professional Organizers ( worked on a community service project for Family Shelter Service, which provides many services for victims of domestic violence ( Several members organized the in-kind donation room at their Wheaton facility and the in-kind donation/storage room at their Downers Grove location.Day-Timer Desk Size Brief Case Organizer with Outside Pocket, Planner Starter Set (D44531 )

Despite having to end early and being short-staffed due to the snowy weather, the organizers made a huge difference for Family Shelter Service! They sorted, containerized, organized, and labeled all the toiletries, cleaning products, school supplies, baby products, paper goods, clothing, and more that were in the rooms.
On the Family Shelter Service Facebook page, they posted, "Thank you to the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) for donating their time and exceptional talent to organize Family Shelter's in-kind rooms at our Wheaton and Downers Grove locations…. The final result is truly a work of art!"
